ORIENT manager Martin Ling has moved quickly to quash rumours that Simon Dawkins ankle injury is serious, writes Craig Rodhouse.

. The 21-year-old picked up the knock during pre-season training in Belgium and it was thought that the on-loan Spurs youngster may have even been sent back to White Hart Lane. But Ling has reasurred O's fans that Dawkins will be back in action very soon. "Fortunatly it isn't a bad twist and there was even a 50-50 chance that he was going to play last night." Ling said. "Hopefully with a bit a treatment he should be back in training soon and will have a chance of even being involved on Saturday at Boston or Dagenham on Wednesday."

Ling has also revaled how the other quartet of injured players are close to returning to full training. "We are doing fairly well on the injury front at the moment, as Sean Thornton should be over the virus he picked up to be involved on Saturday. "Also I've been pleased to see Wayne (Gray), Tam (Mkandawire) and Alton (Thelwell) back in training as well this week. "Wayne is probably the closest to returning although all three are still a long way behind the other players in terms of fitness."
