ORIENT boss Martin Ling was satisfied with Orient's performance against KFCO Wilrijk yesterday and feels that it was a productive trip to Belgium.

"It was a good game for us and a satisfying start to our pre-season friendlies," Ling told the club's official website.

"We did what we had to do well, made sure we were organised and won the game comfortably. It was nice to get four goals and it was a deserved result."

Ling was also pleased with the contribution of his strikers with Bradley Gray, Ryan Jarvis and last seasons top scorer Adam Boyd all getting on the scoresheet in Antwerp.

"Strikers like to get off the mark as soon as they can, so it was good that three of them scored today.

"Scoring goals builds their confidence so it is important that they got off to a good start in pre-season."

And Ling also believes that the trip has helped him to get to know some of his newer players better.

"It was similar to last year's trip to Ibiza in that it was a getting to know process." Ling added.

"Being in each other's pockets means that you get to know what the players are about and they get to know what you are about."

"That was the main reason for the exercise - the game is probably the least important aspect, but it's always nice to get a win on the board."

"It has certainly been a productive trip."
