ORIENT boss Martin Ling will sift through the transfer market with a fine tooth comb' to find his missing piece in the jigsaw as the search for a left winger gathers pace.
After filling five of the six positions identified for strengthening, Ling will now focus all his attentions on finding a left-sided midfielder. But he insists he is no rush as he looks for the 'right player.' "It's fair to say a left winger will be the final piece in the jigsaw for us," admitted the O's manager.
"There are plenty of names that we are considering but I won't be rushed into making the signing because I want to make sure I get the right person in.
"I'll go through everything with a fine tooth comb.
"I've got seven weeks left in the transfer window and although it would be good to get someone in quickly so it gives them a chance to settle in, I don't want to end up with the wrong person because I rushed things."
Ling last week confirmed the six-month loan deal for 20-year-old Tottenham striker Simon Dawkins, taking his summer tally to five.
Andrew Cave-Brown arrived, 19, after being released from Everton, while goalkeeper Jamie Jones, also 19, traded Norwich's Carrow Road for League One football.
The pair join forward Ryan Jarvis and former Chelsea defender Danny Granville at Brisbane Road, and Ling admitted he has been impressed by the new arrivals after seeing them in action for a week of pre-season training.
"All the new boys have settled in really well,"" continued Ling.
"Everyone who has returned to training is fighting fit and looking really good."
Monday sees the squad travel to Belgium for a three-day trip, where they will train and play a match against a local side, and Ling is convinced the experience will give the new boys the chance to bed in.
"All the lads will be living in each other's pockets for a few days and that's exactly what I want.
"It gives us the chance to put the jigsaw together and for the new boys to gel with the rest of the team.
"It's always nice to get away for a few days and experience a change of scenery so we're all really looking forward to it."
