TWO police officers were injured when they were called to a house in Highams Park following reports of a disturbance.
Neighbours heard raised voices and screams coming from a house in Warboys Crescent at 1.30am on Saturday, and when officers went inside they were assaulted by an occupant.
Three more police cars arrived to help the officers and with the aid of CS spray the homeowner was restrained and arrested.
One officer had head injuries and another suffered severe bruising. Both were released from hospital following treatment.
On Sunday, Paul Twinn, 55, was charged with grevous bodily harm and affray.
He appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday, where the case was sent for trial to Snaresbrook Crown Court on July 15 at 10am. Twinn is being held in custody.
